All teams must make sure the following rules are followed in order to make sure we have a successful tournament.
6 players per team and no player can be changed without prior approvals
A team must have 5 players at the start of the match before the toss
Toss for the 2nd and 3rd match will be done 2 overs before the next match to complete
All matches will start at the time specified in the fixture
Any team coming late will forfeit the right of toss
Management will decide if overs need to be deducted if the team is late and their decision will be final.
If both teams are late, the first team having 5 players will have the right to choose to bat or field and overs will be deducted according to the team arrival
Match ball will be provided by the AS Academy
All players must wear the kit provided by the organizers, in case of no kit, the team will play with the players having the shirt only
Players must wear proper shoes to avoid any injury
Same openers are not allowed in the round games. So every match, new pair should open the batting. In the knock-out stages, this will not be the case.
The same bowler is not allowed to bowl 2 overs in every match. There should be a rotation.
No short pitch deliveries allowed and in case of any short pitch, a warning will be given and in the 2nd instance, a bowler will not be allowed to bowl again in the match. For each short-pitch, 2 runs will be awarded to the batting side and ball will be re-balled.
The winning team will get 2 points and in case of a tie super over will be played
If the ball is hit out of the ground,
If hit straight and out of the ground within the defined area, 6 runs will be awarded
if the ball is hit out other than the defined area, the player will be out and - 3 runs from the score
the straight fence will be 4 runs if bounced and hit and if direct, it will be 6 runs.
Bowlers are only allowed 6 yards for the run-up
All teams must respect each other and in case of any dispute, organizer decision will be final
6 Players are allowed to field
1 over per ball and only 1 bowler can bowl 2 overs but can’t bowl again in round matches the 2 overs
5 overs tournament
Players under the age of 8 or still learning cricket will be given 1 over to play and bowler will bowl underarm for them. This over will be extra to the 5 overs. If out it will go back to the normal tournament schedule.
Any misconduct will deduct 5 runs from the total score as a penalty
At the end of the over, batsmen must change ends
Umpires for the match will be the initial judge for the match
If the ball goes out of the ground rolling on the ground, it is not out and the player will be awarded 2 runs only
If the ball is hit in the air and it touches any object and goes out of the ground, the player will be out and the score will be -3
Wide ball 2 runs will be awarded to the batting side
Foot No-ball 2 runs will be awarded to the batting side and free hit will be given. On a free hit, Batman can hit straight and if out of the ground, it will be six.
In case of unavoidable circumstance, the match is not played both teams will be avoided 1 point each (bad weather, rain etc) Management decision will be final.
There is no refund in case of player withdrawal from the tournament due to any circumstances once registered
A top team with higher points will qualify for the final, if points are same, NRR will be considered
Eliminator & Final Rules – Amendment
Date: 23rd May 2019
Further to the existing rules of the tournament, the following modifications in the rules during the Eliminator round and Final. All other changes remain the same, except for the following.
Eliminator Round
Match will be for 10 overs, where each bowler can bowl maximum 3 overs and 1 bowler to bowl 1 over.
There will be 2 runs for wide and ball will be re-bowled. Meaning that ball will not be counted but 2 runs will be added to the score
No Ball – 1 run will be awarded and free hit will be given. Ball will be re-bowled. If the ball is hit straight out of the 6 area defined already, 6 runs will be awarded and batsman will not be out.
Final
Further to the existing rules, and including the above rules, match will be for 12 overs and each bowler can bowl 3 over maximum.
All other rules remain as per the existing and additional changes added above.
If there is any dispute, tournament management decision is final!
